AGSA 2014: 'Opportunities for grains from breakthrough science' 64th Australian Cereal Science Conference

The 64th Australian Grain Science conference is coming into shape. The conference chair is Professor Mike Gidley and he has been working hard with the Committee to plan the conference. The conference will be held in Brisbane in late August.
Three themes have been decided upon and keynote speakers invited to speak in these:
Theme 1: Breakthrough science relevant to the applications and uses of grains
Invited speaker: Professor Cristophe Courtin, KU Leuven, Belgium Invited speaker: Professor Geoff Fincher, Univ of Adelaide
Theme 2: Impact of genome science on breeding for yield and quality
Invited speaker: Professor Robert Hall Invited speaker: to be confirmed
Theme 3: Value adding of grains for the food sector
Invited speaker: Professor Yong Cheng Shi, Kansas State Univ Invited speaker: Dr Peter Schutz, Chair of Food Innovation Australia Ltd
The conference will provide 5 student awards, sponsored by AGSA, and nominations will be called for in the coming weeks, so keep a watch out.
There will also be a trade exhibition giving you a first-hand opportunity to see new and established products of interest to cereal scientists.
